We are a target archery club. We have around 60 members, most of whom shoot recurve bows and a few who are expert with compound bows.
We welcome new members.
We run a course for beginners each year from April/May onwards (typically on
Tuesday evenings or Saturday afternoons).
In the summer season we meet on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evenings and on Sunday mornings.
Members are free to shoot at other times too since the range is always open
to club members.
In mid-September we run a popular half day short metric which attracts both experienced archers and beginners. To encourage the year's new beginners, there are awards just for them. We always finish this event with a knockout competition that ends with a head to head, single shot!
In winter we mainly shoot indoors once a week from 8 p.m. on Tuesday evenings. We also continue outdoors when the weather permits it.
We also hold our club championships in September, a good opportunity for new
club members to experience competition conditions and to allow club members to
meet and compete against each other.
